Soulful Speaking

Beyond Authenticity (mini-sode)

Send Lauri a message

Authenticity has become the gold standard in public speaking—but what if it’s just the beginning?

In this mini-episode, Lauri explores what lies beyond authenticity: a deeper resonance that moves through body, breath, and voice to transform not just connection, but the room itself.

Soulful speaking goes beyond being seen. It’s about being felt, understood, and unforgettable.

TAKEAWAYS

Authenticity is a doorway to soulful speaking.
It’s essential—but it’s only the beginning.

Soulful Speaking lives in the body—it’s about resonance, not just content.

Authenticity alone won’t change the world: True impact happens when a speaker holds space for the audience’s transformation.

Speaker 1:

authenticity is a doorway to soulful speaking.

Speaker 1:

It's not the end of the road. I love authenticity. It's been a value of mine since I knew what a value was. And when I look at the world, at all of the change makers speaking and wanting to do their part to change the world, I see that authenticity is not the end. There's more the difference between authentic speaking and soulful speaking, which, by the way, you can't get to soulful speaking without going through that doorway of authenticity. And the difference is in our instrument body, breath, voice, energy and the resonance that that instrument creates. Speaking and singing are really similar because the instrument that creates those two acts singing and speaking is the same. Singing and speaking is the same.

Speaker 1:

So if you take a moment and you imagine Madonna from the 1980s singing one of her top songs, imagine how it feels as you're hearing it. Where does it hit you? How does it hit you? And now imagine Lady Gaga. That's what I'm talking about. The hairs on the back of your neck aren't standing up with Madonna the way they do when Lady Gaga sings, and the speaking difference is very similar.

Speaker 1:

Authenticity is the doorway in and then there's a resonance and an expansion that happens, that makes people's arm hairs and neck hairs stand up. It's the difference between being seen and being seen and felt and understood. The soulful speakers, the ones who can tap into that level of resonance and expansion. The soulful speakers, the ones who can tap into that level of resonance and expansion, also have a very different impact on the crowd. They connect to the crowd. Yes, they also hold the space for the crowd to transform. So, instead of watch, connect and leave it's, connect, feel, transform, go out and change the world. That, the soulful speaking ingredient is part of how we change the world, one room at a time.
